Description

Original South African cast iron cooking pot with 3 legs. Descended from the Dutch oven brought from the Netherlands to South Africa in the 17th century, the Potjie Pot is not only found in the homes and villages of people throughout southern Africa, but now world wide. The pot is heated using small amounts of wood or charcoal.
The potjie pot is placed on a fire. Meat is added first. This can be anything from lamb or pork to beef. Vegetables and spices are added and cooked slowly. Size 3 is perfect for normal everyday use.
